I just finished a Ceramics class, one of my last art electives before I graduate. Throwing for the first time made me hate life, but I got the hang of it eventually. Sorry they’re cell phone photos; they really don’t do these justice, but my camera’s packed away.
Some favorites:

It’s hard to see the slip inlay but it turned out pretty well.

A pretty cool floating lip on the rim of this one. That’s either a spout or a spoon rest on the side. Cracked a little, but worth patching I think.

I call this one Lefty Jar. Guess why? I just love the Tenmoku glaze.

I also love Rutile Blue for interiors.

One crazy teapot. I like how unpredictable the shino glazes are. The lid is actually the same glaze as the rest of the pot. It was just higher up in the kiln. It has little feet on the bottom too.
But this one’s definitely my favorite:
Look at that crack! And it still holds together perfectly. No good for cereal, but gorgeous.

Hi Sarah and Anne,
All is well! I’m not sure what you mean about the search bar. I’d have to see an example, but the code for it is everything inside <form…./form> so you can find that and move it around to see if anything works.
- To add tags to each post, find every instance of this
{NoteCountWithLabel} / <a href=”{Permalink}”>Permalink</a>
And replace it with this
<a href=”{Permalink}”>{NoteCountWithLabel}</a>{block:HasTags} / {block:Tags} <a href=”{TagURL}”>{Tag}</a> {/block:Tags}{/block:HasTags}</div>
- http://tumblrtags.rivers.pro/ has a pretty cool script for a tag cloud you can put in the sidebar. You’d need to make the text size 100 to match the rest of the blog.
- The image size issue is tricky. You can try to make the whole blog wider; basically find everything in the HTML that’s 500px or higher and add 100 to it. That might only affect new posts though.
Let me know how that works.

As a thank you to the now-1200+ users of my theme, I implemented the most asked-for feature: a fixed sidebar. An especially kickass one I think. I know it would create problems for some people who add a bunch of stuff to theirs, so it’s optional. As always, if you have questions or find bugs, let me know.
I swear I’ve been drawing too, by the way. I’ll upload some work next week. Promise.

I finally got around to designing my own tumblr theme after being pretty dissatisfied with the selection in the theme garden. It makes a point of being simple and unobtrusive, and totally super free so use it if you’d like!
If you find some bugs or want some help customizing it, just let me know.

A little more from that children’s book. Haven’t been able to do much with everything I’ve got going on right now, but it looks like we’re going to nail down a timeline in the near future.

Sorry for the radio silence. It’s been a crazy couple weeks. Trying to graduate in August, which means my schedule is 9 to 9 most days. Updates will be sparse, but here’s one. I’ve been printing. A lot. So much fun.

Everyone in the NYC area should stop by Society of Illustrators to see my work in the Student Scholarship Competition show, now through the 29th. 128 East 63rd Street (between Park and Lex).
P.S. The same piece is now for sale as a print here: http://www.society6.com/studio/fridayface/Streetcar_Poster. I haven’t gotten a proof yet, so no guarantees about quality, but it seems like the guys at society6 (a totally unrelated “society”) have their act together.
More prints to come, hopefully. Taking requests, of course.
P.P.S. Thanks for snapping the photo, Louise.

Sketching while watching TV. I’m not great at likenesses, so I get excited when they come out remotely like the person I’m drawing.

I put a poorly-lit flip through of my seminar project up on my site: http://fridayface.com/#365571/Charlie-Mike.
